Today was a hot one with temperatures in the low 90’s and the humidity near 80%. We made a quick stop in Gallitzin to catch a westbound intermodal with empties. Then we made our way over to Lilly again today since it was pretty shady for the truck and for us. We got a few east and west bounds. The eastbound Amtrak snuck up on me I wasn’t’ able to get any photos. I was able to get a photo of the BNSF Executive/Grinstein PRLX 9560 heading eastbound on the Norfolk Southern 38Q.

Later in the afternoon, we made our way to Shaffer’s Full Steam Ahead Hobby Shop. I picked up a few N scale items. My dad found a 42’ coil steel car “Bethlehem Steel” a sharp looking black and yellow car. I haven’t seen any of these cars at the train shows or hobby shops.

After that, I wanted to see if there was any action in Hollidaysburg. I was very lucky to see the Everett Railroad Company made a few yard moves. They weren’t using one of the American Association of Railroads frequencies they were on a UHF frequency, thank goodness for the Uniden Close Call feature.

Tomorrow they are calling for rain showers in the afternoon so we will hit the road early and get some morning trains before the rain comes.
